Aura Farming
How to Aura Farm: 9 Moves That Actually Work
A practical guide to aura farming — the nine behaviours that reliably read as high aura, the three that quietly cost you points, and how to test yourself against the live ranking.

Aura farming is the art of doing something impressive and then acting like it cost you nothing. The internet scores it in invented aura points; The Aura 100 scores it for real, with head-to-head votes that move an Elo-style rating. If you want the full definition first, start with what aura farming means.
This is the practical version: what to actually do.
1. Finish the action, skip the celebration
The single highest-yield move in aura farming. Make the shot, land the joke, close the deal — then carry on as if the next thing is more interesting. Celebration is a request for attention. Aura is what happens when you do not make the request.
2. Let somebody else narrate it
You never award yourself aura. The points only exist because a third party said so in the comments. If you have to point out that the thing you did was cool, it stops being cool at the exact moment you point it out.
3. Under-react by one notch
Not zero reaction — one notch below what the moment deserves. Complete stone-facedness reads as rehearsed. A half-second nod after something genuinely difficult reads as a person who does this often.
4. Move slower than the room
Speed signals urgency; urgency signals that the outcome matters to you more than it matters to everyone else. Walking at your own pace through a room that is hurrying is one of the cheapest aura upgrades available.
5. Answer in one sentence
The hardest question in the meeting, the argument in the group chat, the awkward question at dinner. One clean sentence, then stop. The silence after a short answer does more work than the answer.
6. Build a repeatable silhouette
Aura reads at distance. A consistent outfit shape, posture and walk means people recognise you before they can see your face. This is where farming crosses into aura maxxing — the long-term version of the same project.
7. Be generous when there is no audience
Counter-intuitive, but the strongest aura stories are told by other people about things they were not supposed to see. Paying quietly, helping without documenting it, defending someone who was not in the room.
8. Leave first
The person who leaves while the night is still good is remembered better than the person who closed the venue. Departure timing is an underrated aura lever.
9. Never explain the bit
Explaining is the universal aura tax. It converts a moment into a claim, and claims can be argued with.
What loses you aura
Three reliable point-burners: announcing your own coolness, arguing in replies, and slipping immediately after the pose. That last one — the confident setup followed by the visible failure — is the definition of negative aura.
Test it against the live ranking
Theory only goes so far. The Aura 100 runs real head-to-head aura battles — two people, one question, who has more aura — and the results build the live aura ranking. Vote for twenty rounds and you will learn more about what actually reads as aura than any list can teach you.
